About The Role

Aegis Sandstrom is a small and homely facility located opposite the Mt Lawley railway station.  Aegis offers a broad range of accommodation and lifestyles for 48 residents. We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-driven individual to join our lifestyle team as the Resident Lifestyle Officer as well as Therapy Assistant on a permanent part time basis.  The hours are 38 per fortnight as RLO and 12 hours as a therapy assistant Monday to Friday.

The Resident Lifestyle Officer role is integral to the Therapy Team, and responsible for the following: -

  • The integration of all aspects of customer experience, lifestyle, and excellence in dining in the facility.
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive, meaningful, and enjoyable lifestyle programs.
  • Provide support to residents to ensure the Excellence in Dining (EiD) principles are adhered to. 
  • Actively promotes the residents right to privacy, dignity, and freedom of choice.
  • Provide a one-point contact for residents and family members to ensure delivery of lifestyle commitments.
  • Arrange intergenerational activities, booking activities and bus trips.
  • Arrange Resident and Relative Meetings
  • Set up the Resident Committee

 Requirements of the role

  • This is a senior position and applicants MUST have at least four (4) years’ experience as a Therapy Assistant in Aged care.
  •  Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  •  Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and coach staff to deliver quality lifestyle and therapy activities.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  •  Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • A genuine interest in and empathy for the elderly.
  •  A Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent higher experience
  •  Aged care and dementia experience. Have full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
